I got Kriya from SRF some years ago and after practicing it I had some bad stuff happen too. Nothing bad in the form of physical sensations but I did feel a tremendous pressure at my spiritual eye as though my head were very heavy. What was strange was that when I was with people a lot of them would say that they suddenly got a headache and I felt they were feeling something of what I felt in the head. Most of the "bad" stuff I experienced had to do with my thoughts becoming very powerful and effecting changes in the "real" world directly, as though whatever I projected manifested immediately or within a very short time. A certain aspect of this was terrifying because I began to fear that power and what it could do in those moments when the mind is uncontrolled.

Kriya awakens Kundalini Shakti and makes it flow to the higher chakras where it awakens the innate powers of the mind. I think the harsh sensations you are experiencing are probably as Hendrik says, blockages and things you need to work through on your way to Self-realization. This can take lifetimes of effort and struggle but I believe the reward is tremendous at the end; so the Masters tells us.

I am not the Anonymous who posted above saying SRF is altered original Kriya. Although there is truth to the fact that it is altered it does not make it lesser or more dangerous. That link is indeed helpful and taught me much about Kriya that I did not find in SRF literature.

Never contemplate suicide. You will not end your suffering because only your physical body will be shed at death. The energy you experience is pranic in nature and if you have phsychic blockages they will continue to plague you regardless of whether you are in the body or not. Persevere and see what you can do about it while you are here.

One saint has written, that whether it is the touch of grace or the touch of fire, it is still the touch of God and if borne with courage and devotion it will bring positive results eventually.

I suggest you dont practice Kriya when this stuff happens to you. Focus at the spiritual eye and practice devotion. Do physical things like exercise and things you enjoy doing. Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of clean fresh water. Avoid stress and read books about great saints and inspirational things. Maintain a good posture if you have an incorrect one. You can do this by doing hatha or something like Alexander technique. Practice the Energization Exercises and above all meditate and ask for help and guidance. If you are a SRF Kriyaban you should know that Yogananda is omnipresent and can help you if you make efforts to tune in with him.
