I had a burning sensation in the beginning of the practice, that went away with correct practice...
Prior to Kriya Yoga initiation I had an accident and as result of it I got a herniated disk; which it healed after engaging myself in a lifting weight program about ten years ago.

1-Asana or correct posture is very important i.e. spine straight
2- Practice your Energization Exercises twice daily in order to balance your energies.
3- Check your Mahamudra technique as taught in the lessons- very very important to do it correctly

4- Do not add any pranayama technique from any other spiritual lineage.

Having said that, please do yourself a favor and write a letter to Mother Center, then request advice from a well known Kriya practicioner.
