It is understandable that you would disagree. Krishna is so lofty a conception of God that it is hard to conceive he ever had human flaws and weaknesses. Yet it is precisely because he was once like us that it lends a special blessing to our relationship with Him and also a profound significance to His existence.

If he was, like the angels are said to be, a special creation of God, that would make Him unreachable in our innermost hearts. It is perhaps partly because He holds the promise of what we ourselves can become from within that we love Him and are attracted so much by His divine nature. He is our mirror, into which we can look and see reflected the very best within ourselves; the pure, divine, soul nature.

There are also other very important sources of evidence about Krishna being a bound soul who became free. One is that Yogananda said this about him. Yogananda is difficult to disbelieve as you may well know and for good reason; he was omniscient. If anyone had the authority to claim this about Krishna it was he. It is even said he was Krishna's disciple, Arjuna, in another life.
