Actually, the scripture speaks of these 10 incarnations as being those of Vishnu, of which Krishna was one.

Also, Yogananda has indeed taught that Krishna was, like all masters, a human being who attained to God-consciousness.
He was not speaking only of certain saints or masters, but of Christ and Krishna, Rama and so on too. He stated this explicitly.

"If Lord Krishna were an ordinary mortal in his previous births the scriptures would certainly have mentioned those incarnations."

As a matter of fact, certain scriptures note that Krishna has been in untold numbers of lives with His numerous devotees. Take the supreme example of Arjuna. In the Gita Krishna tells him, "We have been in many births together. I remember them all, though you do not."
