I have never heard anybody remotely associated with Kriya yoga in the line of P.Y. ever suggest that you have to give up your religion to become an initiated Kriya yogi. Far from it. You are encouraged to maintain your faith since all of the world's major religions, when understood in truth, aim toward the same goal.

If your religion's teachings are in harmony with the teaching of Love for God and Mankind (because God is Love), then feel free to maintain that religion. If you are involved in a religion that teaches discord and negativity, hatred, etc. then you are on a path of darkness and need to re-evaluate your understanding.

Kriya yoga is generally considered non-sectarian and involves a direct experience of God through meditation and yoga practice.
