She said that the chakras "correspond", but not "correspond to the positions" of the endocrine glands. But true, she is not particularly exact here.

The occultist and yogi Gustav Meyrink experienced a "metamorphosis of blood" as a result of his yoga practice, and he emphasized that this metamorphosis was indispensable to a yogic change of consciousness, but his strange phrasing seems to be rather mirroring old alchemistical ideas which he was fond of; I am sure he meant more than the blood itself.

If there should be indeed a connection between chakras and glands Fortune might be right though; the increased discharge of gland secretions is detected by the help of blood tests. But Fortune seems to suggest that some minor changes in blood composition like this bring about the fundamental changes of consciousness in yoga. I am not so sure about this.
