Last year after convocation I stayed one week at Hidden Valley Ashram. Dharmananda bitterly explained that we (meaning the monastics) always have to say, quote “Yes Madam”.

Some postulants (in the swimming pool) discussed the vast number of monks or brahmacharis having left or contemplating to leave.

So I assume not all the misgivings surrounding SRF (the organization) are cooked up at the SRF-Walrus.

It is true that without Yogananda the beneficial Kriya exercises would not have been so widely known. He surely deserves credit for that. What grates me is the “Jesufication” of Yogananda, his deification, the bowing, genuflection etc. This has been dealt with in other threads. In my posts I wanted to bring him back to the human level. I am often appalled by SRFers here in New York saying Master wants me to do this or Master wants me to do that. That type of blind belief in the infallible guidance of a human being (now dead) borders on idol worship. When I am confronted with this type of attitude I am often tempted to take the Kriya exercises and run.

Now I have to stop to do my Kriyas.
