"Firefly seems to be dimming each episode and might be extinguished in a month. Why have such cryptic talk if the series wont even last a year?"

I've only seen one episode, too (Bushwhacked) but am worried that it won't last. Not different enough from all the other space shows, even if they do speak Southern(since that's my native language, I don't have a problem recognizing each word--but what they all add up to...?) Buffy was really a novel approach and Angel spun off that. This has great characters, look, etc.--but what separates it from everything from Star Wars through Babylon 5 and Andromeda?
