My guess is the first thirty minutes of setup freaked Fox, which was a shame because it gave context to the next hour and a half of the show which was nothing but suspense and action, broken by more suspense and then action and then suspense and simultaneous action.

The pilot has convinced me that if Firefly doesn't find a new home, it will be an enormous travesty. Because the pilot has convinced me in a way even the ten other eps didn't quite that there is a hell of a lot more to all theses characters' stories than what we've been privy to thus far. At this point my heart is really breaking at the thought that we won't ever see Serenity fly again. I just can't quite believe it.

But On Topic, no I can't curse in Chinese. But I now know Go se means dog poo. Does that help?
