Dull. The muted behaviors that thickened the very air in the Lavender Hall choked her smarting nostrils. The Snow Ball...the very womb of delusion and pseudo infatuation. A neoteric hell of morons in Daddy's tuxedo and Mommy's lace gloves. Psyche had a low threshold for stupidity.

She had ventured away from the custodial glow, the sheltered embrace of the Children's room in search of...wait, what was she in search of? An answer? To what question? Distraction? Diversion? Disclosure?

She opened her sharp, shadowed eyes and assumed her typical detached position somewhat apart from the clustered herd. Instantly, she was able to draw the Alpha, the former King, from the messy throng. He seemed unctuous even from a distance.
