INDIAN WARS
-last to organize a rebllion was CHIRICAHUA APACHES
-one chief was tricked and then murdered(MANGAS)
-other(COCHISE) agreed to peaceful exchange
-Geronimo came to chief
-fought for a decaded longer
-then gave up was out numbered
-Apache wars most violent cuz most determined
-1871 a mob came in and killed 100 indians & sold kids into slavery
*GHOST DANCE
-WOVOKA prophet of the time
-"Ghost Dance" inspired visions
-vision of whites retreating the plains and return of the buffalo
-some whites freared the dance
*WOUNDED KNEE
-Custer ronded up 350 sioux's
-fight broke out at wounded knee
-40 whites 200 indians died
-battled turned into one-sided massacre
-whites turned thier machine gun on indians and killed them
