-peopel with wealth had great power and responsibility
-andrew carnegie in 1901 worte the book "Gospel of Wealth"
-he said the "trust funds" should go towards the community
*Russell Conwell
-baptist minister
-lectured on people finding wealth in thier own back yard
-everybody has a chance to become wealthy
*Horatio Alger
-minister in Mass. was removed b/c sex scandal
-wrote novels
-moslty about poor boy going to big city to seek fotune
-he himself became wealthy
-he was gay but kept it hiden
