At a time when more than ever, we need a united front against the relentless incursion of EU laws and values into our way-of-life, we are now witnessing UKIP’s attempts to become a circus act.

If scoring the monumental own-goal of their critique of the Tory party wasn’t enough, they are now squabbling amongst themselves, and look as though they will soon implode under the ego of their new-found star. Robert Kilroy-Silk has withdrawn from the European Parliament UKIP Group (of MEPs), in a huff over potential disciplinary action over his leadership claims. There was talk of expelling him from the party. He will now presumably speak and vote on his own, in the Parliament.

In a week where Charlatan Blair crosses the channel to sign that eternal straitjacket that passes for a constitution, we witness the disintegration of the most vehement opposition.

Any party that names itself after a single idea is never going to reach government. Brits who don't want the EU should be working to strengthen Tory resolve.

I agree, if you want to inflict change, you should join either Labour or the Tories in the UK or Labor or the Liberals/Nationals in Australia. The last thing UK politics needs is a Northern Ireland-type situation where politics is completely dominated by single issue parties.
