] Date Posted: 20:31:20 10/28/04 Thu In reply to: Jim (Canada) 's message, "Incredible find in the mail this morning" on 17:55:15 10/28/04 Thu I was wondering, were it not for the modern stamp, if Canada Post were trying to beat the Royal Mail's record in a late delivery! Date Posted: 12:51:23 10/29/04 Fri We make fun of the Royal Mail a lot, but try living over here... A friend of mine last week received the birthday card which I sent him in good time from Italy to Britain. His birthday was at the beginning of August. A bassa le Poste Italiane! On the other hand, when I lived in India I would receive parcels sent from Britain within ten days, sometimes less, and that was to get to a small monastic settlement in the middle of the jungle more than 100 miles from the nearest town with a sorting office. The legacy of Empire, do you think? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 22:13:21 10/28/04 Thu The two old stamps would only be four cents, when 49 cents is required! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
