I have never visited South Africa. I have South African in-laws and friends, all of British descent, and they are all good fellows. When I have spoken to Black South Africans (admittedly "British" educated ones) I have been able to communicate with them about cricket and discuss things in a generally civilised manner. We have found common ground.

Every experience that I have had dealing with Dutch South Africans has been negative. They have been invariably rude charmless boors, no maners at all. In what way are these totally disagreeable peasants civilised? They are not. What value would these barbarians bring to this federation? None.
I am content that we own all of South Africa's gold mines without needing any political involvement with the Dutch South Africans.

Oh and I think that SA wines are absolutely dreadful piss and a bastard Boer plot to destabilise the British economy by inflicting the three-day hangover upon the unsuspecting consumer.

Hm. I would agree. Note also their incoherence... this is not because speak Afrikaans as their first language, as they claim. This is clearly absurd, since Afrikaans can only be used to express three ideas, and two of them are wrong. The truth is that they can only speak in slogans, amongst which the following are notable: "Long live the white South Arica!", "It's a dirty Marxist/liberal/Catholic/whatever plot!", and "I swear, officer, that man was dead when I found him..."

Sorry. I shall stop posting rude things about Boers, which are becoming perilously close to the prejudice which we criticise in them!
