Hi Hal,

While geting magic on the web is good if you dont have a magic dealer around. I would first suggest going to your local bookshop and seeing what kinds of magic books they have. also it is a good idea to figure out what type of magic you are most interested in. a couple of good books to buy for beginners is The Everything book of Magic, which covers all of the different branches of magic, another good book (if you can find it)is The Amateur Magician's Handbook
this book in particular gave me a a real boost in my magic. I have the fourth edition of it which has a section on childrens magic and a section of tapeing yourself on video. other books would be J.B. Bobo's coin magic book, Mark wilsons Cyclopedia of Magic, another medium you might look into is magic on video which not only gives you directions but shows you the moves and ect. that you would like to learn many magic dealers have a good selection of books and videos I have found Penguin Magic and the Magic Warehouse to have fairly reasonable prices on some things.

I realize that I have written a book but I like to pass on my knowledge of magic to those willing to learn. if you have anymore questions you can e-mail me at magicman_19992000@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Matthew
