One of our trees has red leaves on it already. Not a lot, but some. The wild sumac growing alongside the highways are bright red already, and have been for a few weeks now. I rarely see robins... did they go south already??? We still have a few fireflies out at night and the cicadas are still going strong. They were calling for a low of 54 tonight!!! I was shocked when I heard that this afternoon. It's been in the mid-80's the last several days. Today there was like no humidity and the temp was in the high 70's... it was great! :D

You need to let one of those hens hatch out some babies! :D C'mon... ya know you want to... ain't nuttin' cuter'n li'l, fluffy chicks! And you may be needing some replacements soon if your flock is gettin' up there. ;D

Last August, when we moved out of the city to this rural spot, I was very pleasantly amazed at the difference. I can see stars at night. I don't hear screaming sirens anymore. I don't have foot traffic walking down the sidewalk or loitering in front of my house, yelling or talking loudly. I don't have vandalism on my property. I don't have neighbor's dogs barking incessantly. I do not miss the city life at all! We still have some conveniences here, such as pizza or Chinese delivery (YAY!). The nearest Wal-Mart is a superstore and is about 13 miles away, but a 20-min drive isn't that bad. My commute to work is about 10 min longer than it was before, bringing it to 30 min now, but that's not a big thing either.

There are a few things I don't like about this apartment, but I love where it's located. I'm so glad we did this. I really feel for you, Cari... I don't think I could move back to a city. At least, I know I wouldn't want to. :)

Mikey, tsk, tsk, tsk... I should whack you with my crutch! lol I think I overdid it myself on Sat. when I went to my coworker's wedding and reception. It was a very fun-filled day, marked with several Rum & Cokes! lol That bartender can really make'em good! But being that everything was outdoors at the bride's inlaw's, walking around on uneven ground probably was too much for my poor knee. So, I'm now paying the price for havin' too much fun. lol Still goin' to PT 3x/wk, and I see the doc on Mon. I bet he's not gonna be happy. Oh well... maybe I should have more Run & Coke, then I won't care if my knee feels a bit sore! :D
