We had a quiet day at home, it was nice. M-I-L even behaved fairly well.

We're about to get settled. We've still got too much furniture... and a lot of JUNK to get rid of, but we're settling in somewhat. I'd LOVE to have an antique shop. I'd sell herbs in it too. They seem to blend well to my way of thinking. For now, I'm thinking of getting a booth in a flea market to get rid of some of our stuff.

We are chickenless. Our nearest neighbor, the preacher, doesn't care if I keep a couple of hens. I thought I'd get 2-3 Silkie hens in the spring to keep in the herb garden. The door out the kitchen has a patio and a white picket fence around the whole end of the house which will make a perfect herb garden and chicken yard. I've kept a small chicken tractor that will fit into the area nicely. They'll be safe and can't get out of the fencing.

I really, really, really miss living in the country, but Ed likes it here and his Mom...HMMM. I guess she's coping fairly well. She's a lot of the reason we chose to do this, although she doesn't know she's the reason. She doesn't realize how bad her dementia is. She's made it hard for us to settle in, because she requires/demands so much of our time. Our part of the house is still full of boxes. We're hoping to get some of those put away before next spring. LOL.
