Oops, I've been dealing with other poultry issues and haven't checked in much lately. The impression I am getting is maybe the feed is the key here. If the gosling was fed a pelleted feed which was possibly moldy(it had maggot in it) that could be a big part of the problem. Ducklings and goslings and pretty resilient creatures but moldy feed can poison them quickly. Moldy feed will usually cause paralysis in the legs. Lack of niacin will cause them to go down on their legs. Botulism (typical from flies and maggots) will cause paralysis and very limber necks. Paralysis and stiff necks(or legs) is normally associated with aspergillis poisoning( from moldy feed). Worming a two week old gosling that has been inside is pretty futile and can do more harm that good. My best is still on the feed. The heat source would be preferred for a gosling less than two weeks old. I've seen goslings outside in pretty cool conditions but they normally had an optional heat source near by(mother).

Just some rambling thoughts,

Hummer
