Dear Boo,

How do I know that my slide will end this year? Well, my slide has already ended, but the future potenial is not yet here. Things have improved for me, it is that simple.

Now your larger question is when can you know your slide has ended. That is a much harder question. My answer is I didn't know that I was at the bottom. When I was there, the bottom was simply where I was, and I didn't know whether things would slide further down. After all, I had lost four jobs in four years. Nothing was sticking, and my current work then was simply part time.

I just kept going because that was the only thing I could do. I was a CPA, had been a CFO and COO, but every company I worked for eventually went out of business. Finally, I came to the conclusion that I would never be really successful being an accounting executive. It was like: "Well, while I'm sucessful, I always end up in situations where the company was not. Is there a message here for me?"

I'm now moving toward being a spiritual seminar leader and writer. Now that is two activities where I have no idea how I'm going to earn my living!?! But I'm trusting and taking one day at a time. Since then my part-time accounting work has become steady, and have put on my first seminar (on transitions, like you are going through).

So, your thought of simply "floating along" is fantastic! That is exactly what I had to learn to do, and it is NOT easy in a world that thinks you have to control your life.

Your wrote: "At the rate things are going I think I might still be sliding down financially, love life and career wise. I am not even sure where the situation is taking me and if I want to go where it is taking me." What you are experiencing is the death of who you were. It is not a pleasant experience, and I certainly fought it every inch of the way until I could fight no more and realized that fighting was counter-productive.

You are being led to become a "new" person, but that "new" person is somebody you would have never considered yourself to be. Only AFTER we give up trying to control who we are does the period of reflection begin. Somewhere in the year to two years you will spend in reflection (call "The Void) will a new idea come to you. It will be a seed thought that will take much time to grow (i.e., between the time I thought of giving seminars and did my first seminar was almost two years).

Simply pretend (because it really is true) that you are learning to float, and God has his/her hands under you to prevent you from sinking. Sometimes you will feel the hands holding you up, but most of the time you will not. It is that things just never get as bad as you think they could (in fact, we would do well to NOT dwell on how bad they can get).

Boo, you are making trememdous progress. There will probably be more pain ahead, but you have the ability to feel the pain, and continue. Do NOT give up, because there is no need to give up. Nobody tells us about these times, so we believe we shouldn't enounter them. But they exist in everybody's life (just watch Dr. Phil to see how badly some people find themselves). In fact, they appear to occur in thirty year cycles, give or take five years.

Keep writing your messages here. You are an inspiration to all of us, and God (i.e., his/her angels, guides and masters) is very pleased with your progress!

Love,

Gary
