They all have seconds that they will sell to people they know. Problem is some of those people don't have the equipment/ability to properly repair them. I know they sell seconds because I can buy them, however I never would unless I was to pick it up in person. Some are foundry defect such as yours, and others may just have a tap broken off in them or some holes not drilled etc. It is a shame what you are going through. I have purchased one thing from Mike Weinle and feel I got just what I paid for, but after all the horror stories I have read since I never will buy anything from him again unless it's in person and disassembled where I can see it.
