We were at a pageant last week and Beth Deerling or however its spelled was there. I was shocked at how she acted and someone said that wasn't anything new, she always did that. My question is do all coaches show their butts like that? Who does she coach? I know my Mom was ready to leave watching how she acted. I am sure we are going to need a coach sometime this year but would like to get more information about how they are suppose to carry themselves before we try anyone.
I do not know of a "pageant etiquette" rulebook anywhere. I guess you have to go with the coach that you like the most. Coaches are not known for being timid, so good luck on finding one that meets yours and your mommy's standards.

We have used Miss Mikki since Adrianna was 7 months old she helps with pics, clothes, h/m vendors, pageants, coaching/modeling, etc..., she is great and my grandmother, which is Adrianna's great grandmother,always goes to pageants with us, and her, Adrianna and myself all love her to death. She comes to Nashville and doesnt charge outrageous price.
I would not suggest anyone coach with Beth Dearing, she talks about anyone and everyone that comes in contact with her! -- She is a known basher! Please find someone that is qualified to be a coach!, 02/ 3/08 8:39am

Beth Deerling bashes HER OWN STUDENTS AND THEIR MOTHERS. I have heard it with my own ears. Any mother who coaches with her who thinks she doesn't bash your child is in DENIAL. I have been at two pageants that she has, and on both occasions I have heard her talking poorly about her own students and their mothers.
she also charges $40 to tan and her tans are AWFUL!!!i once asks her to fix my child's tan and she said NO. she is also got something wrong with her, if you ask me, JUST AN OBSERVATION, but once talking to her,she kept talking and talking and talking and her eyes were going ever which way. She didn't make sense, seriously, I DO NOT recommend her to anyone. JMO AND OBSERVATION!

If she is as bad as you say, why do people use her? That doesn't make any sense to me. I have heard bad stuff about all the coaches but nothing like this Beth lady.

- I am so sick of seeing bashing coach posts. I have seen post on the pink boards bashing Amanda, Alisha and everyone else. Heck I am sure ALL coaches talk about other people. Just use who works for your child. If you do not personally hear the bashing don't start with the rumor spreading. She has bashed so many people and many of these girls she don't even coach. She always cries a sad story for people to feel sorry for her. - Because specific expamples need to be given. Anyone can say, "someone bashes". That is easy. But if a person backs up with examples such as, "and she said X and X and Y" then even though it is on a pageant board and is to be taken with a grain of salt, it makes the post more credible. Simple, if the comment is one that would pertain to their child, they would know. If someone bashes a child, usually they will pick on something specific. Parents should be aware if their child is being talked about in a non-positive way. - I don't think anyone really cares what BD says. I think 99% of coahes, vendors, directors and photographers gossip way too much. It's a shame because they are really alientating a lot of parents and then they wonder why their business are struggling and pageant numbers are down. Parents are not going to continue paying fees to coaches, vendors and directors only to have them laugh behind your back. And people wonder why parents are finding other activities for their kids!
