I don't think you need to hear anything other than you have already read. There was no provocation from the Bridgnorth player. This was always going to be a grudge match since Bridgnorth are a young team who only joined the Mid Comb this year and they beat Shrewsbury in the first encounter. Admittedly there are players who used to play for Shrews who now play for Bridgnorth but they are lovely girls and certainly there is no animosity off the field. The match was tight, Shrews & Bridgnorth both determined to win. There were remarks made from both sides which is part & parcel of the game. It was a tough, physical game which is expected at this level and is the very nature of the game. I personally feel that SOME of the Shrews supporters egged on bad feeling during the match, but that is only my opinion. Shrews had won the game for goodness sake - why resort to violence & punches at the end of the match? I feel that the people involved - and as I said before, they know who they are - brought the game into disrepute & should be 'punished' accordingly. Naturally I speak for myself and not either of the clubs involved but I consider that some sort of discipliniary action should be taken as far as the Shrew players are concerned. As you say, you weren't present at the game - I was - and am disappointed at what I witnessed after the match on Sunday.
