Interesting thoughts and reponses. I have to say I agree with Russ, that we shouldn't stop anyone getting involved in and enjoying women's football and that there are no rules which states the MCL or any other league is for non-university teams only! Why shouldn't people have a chance to take part in our great game wherever they can?? As Russ says it's up to the other teams to meet the challenge head on and can only act as an incentive to improve the standards of women's football, in my humble opnion!
HOWEVER.....(surely you knew it was coming!!)
I think the attitude of some of the Loughborough players often leaves a lot to be desired. This is summed up in the antagonistic, arrogant comment on the end of what was really a decent argument earlier in this thread. Maybe people would be a little more sypathetic to your case if you weren't quite so arrogant. You may be one of the best teams in university terms but you should have a little more respect for people on this board and playing in the MCL. Petty "we will beat you all because we're the best and you're all rubbish" type attitudes don't win too many friends - maybe you should save those for BUSA games and just enjoy the MCL and its friendliness lie the rest of the teams who play in it. Maybe then you'll find people a little more sympathetic to your case.
