Subject: Arcane Magic in general

Arcane magic is about power, for the most part. Wizards seek maddening secrets from the blackest of Tomes while most sorcerors struggle to keep their powers in check. I'm thinking about doing a variation on an article in an old Dragon Mag (I think issue 211 or 212), about "Paths of Power". I think it would add a lot of flavor to magic. I'm not going to use it straight out of the article, as that would blur wizards and sorcerors too much. I'm thinking more along the lines of sets of spells taught in certain areas/places, even certain books. If the set is followed, there is less chance for insanity or something like that. Not sure at this point... any suggestions are most welcome.

An example of divisions I may try:
Elven Arcana
Illusion types (each of these would likely have sub-categories too)
Charm types
Divination types
Elven High Magic
Elven Spirit Magic (Necromancy of the Keepers)
Nature magic
Elven War Magic
