Like it or not the exodis from south of the river to north of the river is a reality, however, to label it as "white flight" is incorrect. If the movement was race based then why would citizens be flocking to a city with a black mayor?

People are moving out of Alexandria and into Pineville/Ball because of one factor. Honest government. When the citizens of Alexandria finally get fed up with the nepotism, corruption, bribes, and waste of tax money, things will change. Until then, people will continue to work in Alexandria, but sleep, worship, and raise their kids somewhere else.

As to each community needing each other, perhaps with the shift of residential demographics, could it be that Alexandria needs North Rapides Parish much more that North Rapides needs Alexandria?
