Bill Clinton said it was a problem in 1998 and yes, it is a crisis. The system will start running out of money in 2018. By 2042 it will be ins such bad shape that the only way to save it will be to increase taxes and cut benefits. Just think about it. A person that makes $30,000 a year puts $3,720 a year into the system for 40 years and all he is going to get is about $825 per month in benefits.

Ronald Reagan forsaw a problem with Social Security and patched it up for a few years with a compromise deal w/the democrat-led house and senate in 1983. Bill Clinton made overtones of SS problems to come, as well. But he never called it a "crisis."

Our president and his administration HAVE called it a "crisis," have since backed away from that, and have also now said that the current proposal by Pres. Bush won't even solve the problem enough. Heck, House and Senate REPUBLICANS aren't exactly warming up to the idea.

And it's "enforce" not "INforce."
