Subject: Does anyone know anything about the Sunburst pageant system? I know that it says attire is not judged but sometimes I think thats not entirely true. What do you wear...pageant dress or sunday dress?

Look like you never done a pageant before and make it clear at registration that if your dd does good her daddy said she can go to state. That will be a guarantee win. They want all the newbies to come to state and then get spaked by the season kids. (NT)Anonymous11/14/07 5:22pm
I've judged many SB prelims. Clothing IS NOT judged, but overall appearance is... meaning it doesn't matter what kind of dress or how expensive... It need to FIT, be a good COLOR and your child needs to be well put together. I've seen children at some prelims with no shoes (really!!), messy hair (like it hadn't even been brushed), too big/small clothes, etc. I think, overall, the kids that do best have great personalities and look and BEHAVE like they may be going to church. My DD was a newbie at State and went NATURAL at Sunburst and won in one category, 1st runner up in another, 2nd ru in another! We were impressed with the professionalism and we are planning on trying again! (NT)Anonymous11/29/07 8:39pm
