Tim, First off let me start by introducing myself. I am Bill Branning, Sergeant At Arms for Chapter #117. I don't believe that we have met. First of let me say that both bikes are very nice rides. I ride a VStar 1100 Classic and am very happy with this bike. It has a great ride with excellent speed and handle capibilities and I am very pleased with my bike, so much, that I have put over 16,000 mile on it in just 14 months. The only draw back to the bike I have found is the cost of maintance. The oil filter is inside the case therefore you must drop the right hand floor board, rear break peddle and the front pipe to get to the oil filter. Also the valves must be adjusted every 4000 miles and all of this at a cost between 150.00 to 180.00 a service if you have the dealer do it. Whereas the Road Star can changed like any ohter regular motorcycle. Hope that this helps.
