The enchroachment of day
Sun spliced horizon
Stabs with precise points
My reluctant heart
My unrepenting eyes
Those rays of dawn
Bringing fear, sorrow, dread
A longing for shadows so elusive
They are burned away by light
Arms encircling to embrace
Precious ghosts of lost smiles
Arms, empty by morning
Oh, woe and agony!
Use my body as a shield
My soul as a curtain
To hide sacred orbs from this tyranny
From this torrent of doubt and aching
Hide those seeds deep within me
Let the sun coax them from my flesh
The tears I drink, your's and mine
An intermingled wine
Sprinkle them on my grave.
