It is dark tonight, so dark and dreary
Cobwebs glaze my eyes and those sparks you once saw
Are no more than the spiders that crawl through the holes
In my heart and in my soul.
Hear the church bell in the distant land,
It calls for me darling, it wants me to stray
Deep in the catacombs where the ghost like to play
Haunting images of you and the life we once led.
I sit here tonight beneath a fool's moon.
Wishing forever for you to join me,
In flaunting our passion to the north and the east.
Forgetting the dooms of loving a creature
So fine and regal as you.
Do you know the sound of a stringed instrument?
With a dr~ung like the song of a winged angel
As cupid and psyche told on their wedding night
The sound of a ting of the diamond on your window
Reflecting the light that comes from my will
And low and behold my message of a dark and dreary time
A time in which you disappeared in the woods
To look for a food to bring immorality,
Never to be seen or hear from again.
