Ocean twilight eternity
bears a chained and damaged buoy;
its patined bell resounding clearly until swallowed
beneath fading mercurial amber sea
Its fate unseen yet nonetheless
strung and tortured by the undertow
Gasping crash of disbelief
from folding waves
as the cone steel-frame silhouette
expunges to the surface;
bobbing and weaving,
gasping for breath,
(severed chain sinking in depths)
awash with newly won freedom
Now its tolling chime is betrothed
to firmament's crystalline night hand,
whose fingers have scattered,
throughout herself, dense and distant flakes
from the burning hairs of the departed sun
