Subject: 1978 Chris Craft 22ft Cutlass

I have a 1978 22ft Chris Craft which is kept on the South shore of Long Island . I am looking for someone to carry out a full restoration of the boat from stem to stern. Could anyone suggest someone that could do that for me over the winter. I live in the UK and am only in the USA in July and August

Hi Colin, there are so many good restorers it would be hard to recommend one in particular. One would be Grants wooden boat works in Hartwell, Georgia and another would be Kyle Barton of Barton Restorations in Holland, Michigan. A past member of our club is Jim and Dianna Shotwell of Shotwell Boat Works in Maryland, A commercial boat company is Mahogany Bay in Wisconsin, I know that Todd Werner does a lot of restorations. See, so many places. It all depends on what you want. The above mentioned people are very busy and take their time but their restorations are exceptional. You might also look in theACBS directory, there are listings in there also.
