As far as salt water I really don't have a choice, not lakes in So. AL. just bays and the Gulf. I will be keeping the boat in a boat lift. It will not be sitting in the water all the time, fouling down here is terrible. These boat don't need to be kept in the water for the hull to remain water tight, do they??????

Like any wooden boat, they will leak IMHO a little, but it doesn't take long to "swell"....I've never had a problem with my Skiff, well, accept the time the battery went dead & knocked the bilges out, LOL!!! -- Jennifer, 09:42:53 03/05/03 Wed (dialup-67.75.131.57.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net/67.75.131.57)
