Subject: Hi Jay!! My friend has one of these dory's, and from what I understand they are extremely rare. He asked Chris Smith about the dory at a show last year, & I think the response was they were only built for 3 years, 1964, 1965 & 1966....From what was told, there weren't too many built, & again, I think they are pretty uncommon. & are well worth restoring & using. My friend is working on his, & his is also powered by a 283 Chevy engine. If you can get it reasonbly, I would certainly suggest doing so! Alan may have some additional information...let's see if he checks in, LOL!!!!

Sorry it took so long for me to read and answer. I tested this model when I worked at CC in Fla. Had a ball with it.
It handled good and was fast and safe with the 283.
I saw one before I got the 22 skiff that I now have and some times I wish that I had one of each.By the way, my skiff now has a 350 swinging a 14X14slight cup at 4100rpm doing only 38mph
