According to the IVDA calendar it's Tango Open, though I guess they might have changed it to avoid repeating the Warwick Open from 6 days earlier...

Is anyone from Nottingham reading this board? Or was there some information at the IVDA meeting?

It could be quite interesting to have the same dance in Basic and Open, to see whether it makes any difference to the outcome ;). Then again, Beginners, Basic and Open Waltz might be overkill... especially iff the MC decides to play "Annabel" incessently (sorry, pet hate, being German I understand the words, which are even worse than the music...).

Anyway, looking forward to the competitions actually starting!

Robin

PS It may be a good thing there's no Paso at Nottingham, according to their website:

<< The Paso Doble is a rather different Latin dance, which depicts the scene in a bull fight. Here, the man is the matador with his cape, and the lady is the bull. >>

Personally I maintain that it is quite apt for a latin girl to depict a raging bull, but most latin dancers i know differ on this opinion ;).
