To me, this means couples who win or make the top3 in just about anything. As a humble beginner or relative newcomer, it's just plain scary competing against them. THey also tend to take it more seriously, practice harder, are better groomed and have less streaky tans :)

I think the last scary IC couple was Ellis & Indika, who won *most* of their events (2000-2002), but noone from IC has dominated in the same way since. There was always a good battle between them and Oxford scary couple of Nick & Penny :)

Scary couples of last year for me:
Oxford: Nick & Harriet, Peter & Jane, Robin & Monika, (all giants!)
Cardiff: Darren & Lucilla, Dan & Mikey
Cambridge: Scott & Sarah, Solon & Su Ann, Paul & Vesna when they appeared.
Southampton: Stuart & Helen, although they had a bad IVDA by their standards :(
