Basically, the combined final is only worthwhile if it contains a mix of current and ex-students, ideally half each... -> take the top 3 from each final. It's not about who are the 6 best dancers at the event. The question is, will the experience of the ex-students win out over the energy of the new guard!

I think the combined final *is* "prestiguous", but a SF is not needed for that. Just think of the two finals of current and ex-students as a semi-final in two heats :)
