I like the idea of an alternative latin section. Cambridge has a large alterative latin scene - salsa team etc.

I don't know anything about judging non-dancesport events, but I'm not convinced that (expensive) dancesport judges are needed. The Hiltons judging the advanced dancesport events would be a wonderful opportunity to compete in front of a very distinguished judge, coach and competitor _in their field_, whereas the Hiltons judging offbeat is (and apologies if the Hiltons are big in the offbeat world) a waste of their talents and experience, not to mention of our limited money.
How do Offbeat dancers feel about who should be judging them? Who do RnR dancers look up to? Who should judge an Argentine Tango competition? How about Nelson Batista for the Salsa (always assuming he can be persuaded to be in the country?) Prehaps the days panel can feature one big name from each field - Salsa, Arg Tango, RnR, Offbeat, Lindy, Freestyle and Ballet? OK, random selection from a dancesport mind, but you get the idea.
The general idea is that the second day would be an enjoyable, fun event, and above all inclusive. Tan not required etc.

I'd love to see a university team match in either :o) - imagine the atmosphere with only 6 _university_ couples on the floor in the final.....eat your heart out open circuit.
