It's a good idea in principle provided the hall is big enough. If you want to save time, you need more than 12 couples on each floor though, but if you had 16 each, you could do the beginners 1st round in 4 heats.

ummatched heats is not a problem, you're just running two at once. The thing i'm not sure about is how much confusion it will create, especially with beginners. Some people will have to hurry across dancefloor A to get to B etc.

I agree that it might affect the atmosphere if two events go on at once, but i think it would be preferable to limiting entries. Also it would be cool to move to one really large dance-floor from semi-finals onwards...

Do you have any venues in mind?
