I would beg to differ. At Cambridge, the club treats offbeat nearly as seriously as dancesport. You might not get this impression, but that's probably because you've been talking mainly to dancesport people.

As example, last year, members of the Offbeat team were subsidised by the CDC by £85 a head, compared to £98 a head for the Dancesport Team - but remember that Offbeat enter fewer competitions. We have an Offbeat class running all year, and two team practices a week. Just because our Offbeat team doesn't overlap with the Dancesport team doesn't mean that they take it less seriously.
