] Date Posted: 12:49:00 10/14/02 Mon http://www.tandyleather.com/ This is where you can find all types of buttons, stud and conchos. You need a good stapler, not the plastic one or a paper stapler. Big metal one. Pull your seat off. You don't want your studs to be where your legs touch or on the crease that occurs when you sit on the seat. Start at about mid-way and measure back to the center seam. Mine was just around 13.5 inches. You can go 14 inches, I then decided how to space them( 1 inch) and centered between the top seam and the lower seam. I marked with an ink pen. I then decided what size and how many to use ( I picked up 1/2 inch, 7/16 inch, 3/8 inch buttons. My pattern was 3,4,5, largest to smallest, front to back. For the center rear I put on the Texas Star (gold star, silver circle)using a plastic backing for support. Be mindful that you want the buttons to stay in a line, a center line helps. I lined up the button pins on this line. The buttons push through the seat material. I only removed those staple that allowed access to the rear part of the seat. The top and seat foam are bonded but the sides are not. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
