Oscar and Felix were the greatest bachelors ever! Talking about the film, not the tv series. Two men coming to grips in a house that smells of men. I'm like your Dad Willie...don't like the pot scrubbing either, and nothing about dishwashing amuses me. Hence the preoccupation with finding a machine to do the work.

Dad had given my sister and I money to go to the cinema.

Joan, do you remember the film you saw that day? Just curious.

We were on our way home past Granny's hose and she called us in. >The usual tea time thing went on.... Hours later she asked whether we would like a brother or sister, I
>said a brother. "Well" she said. you have a brother
>born today. Dad came soon after to collect us. I was
>glad he was there.

My Granda was a gruff old Finn who used to tell me he'd give me to the Rag Man with all the dogs, who walked the alleys scavenging our neighbourhood trash. *S* I stone eyed him and asked him the colour of the dogs. Grampie laughed, but he hated that I could stare him down at will. My father would not let me attend Grampie's funeral in the 50's, and I never forgave him for that.
