Subject: looking for resources

I am considering starting my 9 month old daughter in pageants for the positive benefits they have to offer. I live in WA state and I am having difficulty finding local pageants. We are looking at doing one that's coming up in May in the Tacoma area. However, beyond that I haven't come across much. I would appreciate any resources you all might have in pointing me in the right direction to get started. Thanks!

There are a couple different types of pageants around Washington state.

Cinderella, which I think does have a baby division. http://www.wacinderella.com/index2.html We just went to this one at the state level for the first time, great system, lots of fun, we are just sorry we didnt try it sooner. They have lots of prelims throughout the year.

Then there is Miss American Belle, the national director took a break on this one but is now back and running full steam, she does have a prelim planned for Washington state. http://www.missamericanbelle.com/index.html we have done this one in the past as well, tons of fun for the kids. I think they have a baby division too.

Glitz there is UMMI, http://nwuniversal.tripod.com/ she also has a system called Faces, which is not glitz. The director is great, lots of happy faces. She holds prelims as well.

There is also Coed http://www.wacoedpageant.com/ but I do not believe they have a baby division, although I could be wrong. If you end up enjoying pageants with your child, you might want to keep that one in mind for when she gets a little older. I think they start at age 3 or 4.

You will find that in the Washington/Oregon area the directors are very kind and they direct pageants because they love the kids. They have parties and gifts for all the kids and whether your child wins a title or not, all of the above directors will make her feel special, which is what is important.
