What can the fans of the coming season expect?
The fans can expect a competitive team that will play inspiring basketball. We will play very hard and I believe that a "mad" season awaits us.

[> BJ Outstanding in Last Exhibition Game --Bronco66, 14:43:08 10/19/04 Tue
Strong appearance in Cologne
from: http://www.walter-tigers.de/archiv/aktuell/aktuell7.htm
The fans in RheinEnergie Dome rubbed at the beginning of the play surprise the eyes. The clearly more highly rated Rheinlanders did not bring anything in the initial phase to conditions, while the Tigers away-pulled wide awake point after point. The outstanding Brian Jones (altogether 28 points) paced die Schwaben who led at the end of the 1st Quarter by 24:14.
The 2nd Quarter was more balanced (half time conditions 43:35 for the TIGERS)
The 3rd Quarter belonged to Cologne (19:34) but the Tigers struck back in the 4th qtr when two insanity threes by Kevin Burleson brought Tübingen back with 75:74.
The play was then only decided in the conclusion phase. Radi Tomasevic brought Tübingen few seconds before the end with three again on one point. But at the end Cologne at the freethrow line kept the nerves. Despite the defeat one may be in Tübingen content, RheinEnergie Köln (budget 3.5 million euro) most surely will be in contention this season for the BBL championship. The Swabians, as coach Pat Elzie demanded, set against Rhinelanders team spirit and passion...
Played for the Tigers: Tomasevic (11 P.); Clifford (11 P.), Jones (27 P.), Okosa (14 P.), Nees (2 P.), Burleson (19 P.), Winter mantel (5 P.).
score 89:91 (24:14, 19:21, 19:34, 27:22)

[> [> preview and predicted finish for Walter Tigers and Iceline Karlsruhe -- dent, 19:59:46 10/22/04 Fri
previews and predictions on Brian Jones' and Jens-Uwe Gordon's teams
by Moritz Korff (with edits by dent)
Walter Tigers Tübingen
Kevin Burleson and Brian Jones were the top guards in the 2. Bundesliga (German 2nd division) last year (BJ's team finished 1st in 2. Bundesliga South last year which entitled the team to move up to the 1st division). Both will make impact in the BBL (1. Bundesliga - German 1st division) as well. To add experience new head coach Patrick Elzie decided to sign Brian Clifford and former German National Team center Tim Nees, who will miss the start because of injury. The youngsters Andreas Worenz and Jimmy James will get playing time, as well as Reggie Okosa, another option for the center/power forward-spot.
Prediction: The Tigers will stay in the 1. Bundesliga (the bottom 2 finishers drop down to the 2nd division) and finish 10 to 14 place (out of 16).
Iceline Karlsruhe
Eight players left, eight new were signed. Nosa Obasuyi should be a better center than Pavel Frana, the new US-boys Derrick Allen, Domonic Jones and his backup Tom McChesney ill play in Europe for the first time, but will strengthen Karlsruhe. Also veteran Jens-Uwe Gordon can become an important role player at the 4 or 5.
Prediction: Iceline should be around last season's 10th place finish, but the playoffs seem out of reach (top 8 places).
