Subject: Another Loss for the SCU family

Mike Gervasoni, former Bronco stalwart, died yesterday in a car crash. I met him years ago at a B-Ball camp...he seemed like a very good guy. The article quotes former Bronco Vester Robinson, who played for Gervasoni at Silver Creek before spending 2 years at the Mission Campus. i always wondered why he left. Like his high school coach, he had some serious game. My guess is that '66 has some recollections and thoughts about Gervasoni's career.

before there was J-Lo ... and Fr. Prez P-Lo there was "Ge-vo" ..

I may not have the spelling right but I remember the man and the name AND the GAME ... I was not used to a winning program before I came to Santa Clara and watching Ge-vo pumping it up and running the team in the SJ Civic (as well as other venues) was great ... awalys a crowd favorite they loved him and his hussle ... and his teams set the tone for the Awtry-Ogdens-Eagleson era that followed ...

while the wins may not have been as many, the intensity seemed to be as great ...

prayers to Mike's wife and family

Mike was always the type of individual that makes you glad you are associated with Santa Clara ...
