"There is no difference between religion and politics. Both involve lies and fanatical beliefs that generaly defy logic... Just like rock climbing." — Dave Schuller.

"Sport climbing is neither." — Found on a poster at the gendarme in Seneca rocks.

"Dear Lord, please don't let me fuck up." — Attributed to Buy at Amazon.comAlan Shepard, the first American astronaut (makes a good rappelling prayer)

"Climbing is the only cure for gravity."

"Love a climber, they use protection." — Seen on a T-shirt

"I just bought a complete set of climbing gear on ebay; it comes with a lifetime warranty..."

"Rope drag is Lucifer's stepchild."

My personal favourites:

Man is a rope, fastened between animal and Superman — a rope over an abyss.
(Thus spake Zarathustra, Nietzche)

MORE FULLY:

"I teach you the Superman . . . man is something to be surpassed. Man is a rope connecting animal and superman – a rope over a precipice. What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not a goal"

Wioth an appropriate rope-over-a-precipice design?

Or is this all too nazi by half?

I like the design with the pint glass.

What about 'First Accent' underneath it?

Also, making the climber look much cooler...I would but I have no idea how to use computers in that way.

Having recently watched 'The Life of Brian' hows about:

'Nos vadum ascend'

Which according to an online Latin translator means

'We shall ascend'

Or is this just too classy?

It transpires that the Latin for 'We shall ascend' should be ASCENDEMUS. A simple future tense. The heartier "Let's climb", however, is ASCENDAMUS. The subtle change of the penultimate vowel uses the Jussive Subjunctive. Apparently.
