Dear academic rock climbers,
Ian Heywood, from the Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts (LICA) is giving a paper to the Material Culture and Consumption Group next week. His title is 'The Imaginary and the Material: Aspects of their relationship in rock climbing'. Ian is a sociologist and an art theorist who has written on the production of art... and on rock climbing! Do come along and hear a new take on what you do for pleasure from someone who has done it and then thought about it - seriously.
4.15pm, Wednesday 19th March,
Institute of Advanced Studies, Meeting Room 1
