Subject: Introduction
Well, introduction on me hey? ok here goes.
I am a stay at home mother of two young children, happily married for 5 years now (and counting). I am also a professional psychic medium and writer (non published as of yet). I say as of yet, because I am not giving up on that dream...LOL.
I have been re-developing my gifts for about 15 years now. I have always had clairvoyance and clairaudienc, but didnt really know what it was till I was about 17. When I was 15 I had my first spirit communication. From that day on I read everything I could on the subject. Of course Im still learning, but hey we all learn everyday :-)
I'm not sure what to say about myself..lol. Seems when I start talking about myself I clam up.

It's funny cause I thought an introduction would be nice until I had to think of mine.
I'm a father of 2 teenaged children. A daughter and son .I've just seperated from their mom 6 months ago after 20 years but she is still my best friend , and I am still hers. She's here now visiting the kids , and I guess me.She lives out of state .We live in Tennessee.
I don't do the conventional work thing .I'm kind of a semi- social drop out... I , with my son raise milk goats , chickens and grow vegetables. My daughter , son and I are musicians , and we go out to gig at bars and restaurants.This helps pay the bills.
I was raised catholic. I still see Jesus as the ultimate prophet. But I don't use a title like christian or any other religion , and I don't see any religious groups as a representation of my faith .I do respect all religions and faiths , and believe all religions are basically a humans' path to God.
Without knowing the proper terminology , I've had my first ( pyschic ) or strange experience as a child when about 3 or 4 years old.I remebered being a man , in what I believe was the crossing over from one life to being born again.
I remember being in what seemed like a room but there were no corners , no walls . There were lights of strong intensity , mostly colors of violet , and pinkish purple flashing around like lightening .There was only lights and no other images that are reconizable in this reality.
And in this room was a being that I could feel and it was trying to keep me calm cause I was highly upset I was there and not where I was suppose to be . Or where I thought I was suppose to be .
One other thing I remember as a child, I remember a time when the wind was blowing on a misty rainy day , and in the wind I heard the howling cries of a group of Native Americans , which I called Indians than. I heard them for a while and my grandmother who was wathching me told me it was just the wind . But I kept on insisting it was Indians , I could hear them so clear . They were unhappy , I remember that clearly also .
These events I mentioned because they are the first of events that I can remember which come to my mind now and than and leaves me wondering. I guess it's like an unanswered questain in my life .
The most recent ( psychic ? ) event I've had was, A guy died on his motor cycle last year a few hundred feet from my drive way entrance. I stood over his body with neighbors trying to see if any of us knew who he was while we waited for the police and ambulance . Out of no where I said to my neighbors ; " the poor guy , he's worried about his kids and how their gonna feel when they find out he's dead ".
A neighbor asked if I knew the man ? I said no . He asked me how do I know he has kids .I said I can feel him , he's still here.Everyone there looked at me strange .So I said no more . I was able to feel this guys spirit waiting around as if he was hoping he can get back into his body.

Okay, I am 42, divorced and freshly married again, mother of a 14 year old daughter. We live in the middle of Germany. I am working fulltime as a secretary, and I am a writer in my rare spare time. Not published yet either*g*, but maybe soon over a books-on-demand publisher.
Spirituality has always been a subject for me, starting with my childhood when my Mom told me she doesnīt believe in the God of the Churches, and I may go out and find my own answers. I did, and I am thinking now that every religion points out the same goal. I have read a lot of esoteric stuff, but some of that was too dogmatic, just like the religions are. So I can say I am a free spirit, looking for answers everywhere.
Spiritual experiences happened throughout my life. Things disappeared at home, and reappeared at the strangest places, my Mom called spirits over a tape recorder, telepathic experiments were successful, guja-board (spell?) experiences, and so on, all you can think of. I tried everything out of curiosity.
The last few years have been quieter. I have settled with the Reiki energy, and I am able to contact one of my spiritual guides, and my father, who died in 95.
I do respect all people very much who are psychics. What a gift! SpiritWind, what do you mean by you are a "professional psychic"? I am not used to that term. Does it mean you give readings for people?

I sometimes feel the presence of spirits too. I "get" what they are saying by "feeling" it. I canīt hear them talk directly. But I have to tune myself into that mode, I found it easier to turn it off in everyday life.

Yes, by professional I do mean that I provide service to people. By internet and in person. More in person lately, as my business is growing. I go by a code of ethics, basically those of Psychiatrists. Confidentiality is a big one for me. Which really isn't a problem considering that when I do a session it all comes from Spirit, so I don't remember much anyway :-).
Since I was 14 I have talked with Spirits. As far back as I can remember I have always had clairvoyance (seeing) but my first awakening was a visitation from a deceased loved one. That perked my interest in knowing that there is more out there. In my home town, in the last two years, I have made it public of what I do. There is so much stigmatism here where I live ( I still have people afraid of me). However they are just afraid of the unknown more than me.
I am basically my own religion. I believe in many different points on all religions, and I go with what feels right to me. I feel that The Higher Power (God) gave me feelings for a reason. If something doesn't feel true to me, then for me it isn't. I hope that made sense.

How come we see nothing about "Spirit rappings" and results of "spirit communications" these days? Is the modern concensus that all that is fakery? Or a means of deceiving innocent and gullible "believers"? Are the REAL occurrences swamped by the fakes? And to what extent can spirits be believed?

I very careful as far as believing Spirits. We have a lot of experiences with the tape recorded voices. In this case the Spirits often know less than we do! Some donīt even realize they are "dead".
One of many reasons I donīt do this anymore. There is no development for myself.
I usually believe Spirits if I do believe the Medium, knowing her/his reputation, and of course only if the message isnīt way off! I go by gut feeling here, just like SpiritWind said, if it feels right I work with it.

As I remember it, I've been reading that the quality of the spirits depends on the quality of the medium; GOOD persons attract GOOD spirits, and criminals attract spirits that may have been criminals, and want to make the person as bad as they were, or worse. Probably spirit possession is possible, and can be quite dangerous. This is the basis of warnings to be very careful with spirit communications such as via OUIJA boards.
