If you are a certified referee through USA hockey we will be happy to schedule you for games in the organization. Send me an e-mail at hartman@wvu.edu and I will add you to the list of certified referees and you will receive the schedule of games available from me. If you or your friends do not have e-mail you can call me at 292-0444 to indicate to me when you are generally available (or unavailable) for games and I will see what we can fit.

At present I am attempting to do this nearly entirely electronically which means I prepare a month-long schedule of game dates and times and send it off as an e-mail attachment. Referees then respond/reply to me with dates and times for which they are available and I try to accomodate their requests.

For my part I am trying to do this as equitably as possible for everyone involved, but I also do not have the time to call everyone on the list each week or month to see what their schedules permit. At present the December schedule is partly filled, but slots are still available particularly for squirts on Friday night and Mite on Saturday AM. The January schedule will go out in late December.

On the subject of referees and getting paid...I think we have that issue all cleared up. Checks are in the rink for games through Nov 6th. I will tally up the games for Nov 6 - Dec 6th later this week and submit them to the treasurer. We will probably do them about monthly from here on in.

Now, for my editorial comment....MHA is not a business and has no paid or otherwise compensated persons. Everyone, board member or not is a volunteer and the organization can always use more help.
